Gary J. Nedved is one of the most experienced trial lawyers in Nebraska, having participated in over 100 jury trials in state and federal courts. As a result of his trial experience, success and recognition by his peers, Mr. Nedved has been inducted into prestigious honorary organizations, including the American College of Trial Attorneys and the American Board of Trial Advocates. He is a past President of the Lincoln Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys.

Mr. Nedved’s extensive trial experience involves complex personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability and commercial litigation. In his 30 years of experience, he has handled a broad range of cases, many of which were referred to him by other lawyers throughout the state of Nebraska.

The following cases are examples of complex litigation recently handled by Mr. Nedved:

  • A vigorously disputed automobile accident case in which our ten year old client was catastrophically injured resulting in excess of $800,000 in medical expenses.  Because the firm had thoroughly prepared the case for trial, it was  settled after a 12 hour mediation.
  • A tragic automobile accident case involving the wrongful deaths of a husband, wife, and son in which liability was seriously contested.  The firm retained highly qualified experts to reconstruct the accident–one of whom had been involved in the reconstruction of Princess Diana’s accident.
  • Tried and won a contested case in which our client suffered discrete yet complex injury to her pelvis and low back involving the sacroiliac joint.  The court determined damages in the amount of $270,854.48 and assessed the defendant with 55% of the negligence in the accident.
  • Successfully settled a wrongful death case for the widow of a young heating and air conditioning technician who was planning on taking over the business of his employer.  The firm retained a highly qualified economist to put together the economic analysis that led to a settlement that will financially provide for the decedent’s wife and daughters.
  • Thoroughly prepared and then settled two wrongful death cases in which a father, aged 55, and his 19 year old son died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning after the furnace in their farm house had been negligently repaired.
  • Settled a case for a 35 year old man who suffered complex and traumatic injuries leading to total disability as a result of exposure to anhydrous ammonia.
  • Settled a medical malpractice action for a dentist who can no longer practice because his vision deteriorated due to a LASIK surgery.
  • Successfully defended a Lincoln business in a breach of contract action in which the Plaintiff, who was represented by a law firm in Houston, Texas, sought damages in excess of $1 billion.
  • Settled a product liability case against a major truck manufacturer as a result of brake failure which caused a construction truck to go out of control and kill a 19 year old college student.
  • Settled a medical malpractice case against a physician and hospital for the family of a man who went into cardiac arrest and died as a result of receiving too much morphine prior to surgery.
  • Successfully defended a local business in a breach of contract and fraud cause in a jury trial in Miami, Florida. The Plaintiff was represented by a Miami law firm and was seeking damages in excess of $7 million.
  • Settled personal injury cases for two high school students against the State of Nebraska who were injured when the bus in which they were riding went over a bridge in a construction zone.
  • Recovered royalty payments in a jury trial for the heirs of Dorothy Lynch in a commercial action involving a breach of a royalty agreement for Dorothy Lynch salad dressing.
  • Settled a malpractice action against a dentist for a young woman who was the victim of a misdiagnosis which resulted in the extraction of 13 teeth.
